Telehealth for Canadian primary care clinicians
Call patients from your clinic line, never your cell.
Phone visits happen right on the encounter page. Patients see your clinic number, not your personal one, and the call is scribed automatically, just like an in-person visit. The note is written by the time you hang up.
No credit card required.

Works on
The difference
Your clinic line does the calling, not your cell.
Phone visits should not mean handing out your personal number or typing up the call afterward. Medulla runs the visit from the encounter page, start to finish.
The bolted-on way
- You call from your personal cell, so patients keep your private number and call it back.
- Or you block your number, and patients let the unknown call go to voicemail.
- The call is on a phone while the chart is on a screen, so you write the note after the fact.
- A separate telehealth app, disconnected from the patient's record.
The Medulla way
- Call right from the encounter page, with the patient's number already pulled from the chart.
- Patients see your clinic line, a local number they recognize and answer.
- The call is scribed automatically, the same as an in-person visit.
- The note is written by the time you hang up, with the chart and AI Insight right there during the call.
Your personal number never goes out, and the whole visit is private and encrypted, HIPAA and PIPEDA compliant.
How it works
Call from the chart. Note done by hang-up.
- 01
Click to call from the chart
On the encounter page, the patient's number is already there from their chart. Click to call, or dial it by hand. No personal phone, no retyping.
- 02
Patients see your clinic line
The call goes out under your clinic number, a local number patients recognize and answer, not your personal cell.
- 03
The visit scribes itself
Medulla records and writes the note during the call, the same as an in-person visit. By the time you hang up, it is ready for your EMR.
What you get
The whole call, on the encounter page.
-
Your clinic number, not your cell
Set your caller ID once and every call goes out under your clinic line. Your personal number never reaches a patient.
-
A local number they answer
Patients pick up a local number they recognize far more often than an unknown or blocked one, so less voicemail and less phone tag.
-
Click to call
The patient's number is already on the chart, so you call with a click. Dial by hand on the keypad when you need to.
-
Scribed like any other visit
The call gets the same automatic scribe as an in-person visit, so a concise SOAP note is ready for your EMR by the time you hang up.

Questions
Questions we hear a lot.
Whose number do patients see?
Your clinic number. Set your caller ID once and calls go out under your clinic line, so patients never see your personal cell. Medulla can also provide a local number to call from.
Do I need a separate phone or app?
No. Phone visits happen right in the Medulla drawer on the encounter page. You call from your computer, with no second device and no separate telehealth app to juggle.
Are phone visits scribed like in-person ones?
Yes. Medulla records and writes the note during the call, the same concise SOAP note you get in the room, ready for your EMR by the time you hang up.
How does the patient's number get filled in?
It is pulled from the chart, so you click to call. You can also dial a number by hand on the keypad when you need to.
Is telehealth included in my plan?
Phone visits are included on the Pro and Premium plans. See plans.
Is the call private and secure?
Yes. Phone visits are private and encrypted with bank-grade encryption, and Medulla is HIPAA and PIPEDA compliant. Read our privacy notice.
